In these moments, “resistance” in the form of signs and smirks mean nothing. While not nearly as put together as feared, the second Trump administration is still, as would be expected, taking advantage of their honeymoon period to pummel the checks and balances of the constitution, threatening entire departments of the federal bureaucracy with a single penstroke and empowering oligarchs to take what they want and leave before the cops come.

It would be normal, not extreme, to be a Democrat right now feeling angst and frustration, to simply jump up and shout it all out: that you are unsatisfied, that your constituents are unsatisfied, and that you will not sit idly by while the federal government becomes totally unresponsive to your contributions to its effort.
